Believed to be the site of an early French trading post, Fort Ouiatenon is an example of early American life. Located 3 mi (5 km) southwest of West Lafayette, this site features a replicated blockhouse, which can be toured on weekends from May through September. Archeological evidence suggests that at least 90 homes once sat on the site, housing up to 2,000 French and Indian people. Address: 3129 S River Rd. West Lafayette IN USA 47906
